Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.’

Australis Christian College acknowledges that the family is God’s training ground for preparing the future generations to know and serve Jesus Christ.  The college recognizes that the primary responsibility for the nurture and education of children rests with their parents and seeks to work closely with families to inculcate in student’s excellence in learning, education, and standards for life consistent with the scriptures.

Matthew 20:26-28 – Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,  and whoever wants to be first must be your slave – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Australis Christian College desires to teach students to demonstrate leadership through servanthood as was exemplified by Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20 – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Acts 2:42-47 – ‘All the believers were together and had everything in common.  They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.

Australis Christian College recognizes the importance of community within and outside the college.  The development of healthy relationships between students, families, staff, faculty, Churches, and the community is prioritised, which fosters a strong sense of belonging within the school, and encourages students to become positive and productive members of society even while young.  Students are taught to understand the commission from Christ to bring restoration to a fallen world and are encouraged to discover and engage in their role in influencing the community and redeeming culture.

Australis Christian College believes the Church to be God’s chosen instrument through which He will fulfil his purposes on the earth and reveal His Kingdom (Matthew 16:13-20.; Acts 2:42-47). The Church is the community of believers within the global community of all peoples.
